NFPA 3 & 4 Commissioning and Integrated Testing
An important part of the International Fire Code (IFC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is the effective implementation of a comprehensive plan for the commissioning and integrated testing of life safety systems; the goal is to build confidence in the system. A good plan must clearly outline responsibilities and commitments for all involved parties. Also, the plan must detail the requirements for testing building life safety elements for the life of the project and include fire sprinklers, fire alarm, elevator safety features, delayed egress and smoke control. Even when not enumerated by specific jurisdictions, it is the design teams responsibility to comprehensively have coordinated testing all life safety systems while mitigating project delays, ensuring compliance with the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) and ensuring system integrity for years to come. TLH Fire prides itself in assisting and enhancing the safety of construction, alteration, and demolition services, ensuring compliance with NFPA 241 for you!
